Football fever building up in Moscow

There’s been a lot of excitement about Moscow in the UK over the last couple of weeks because there will be two English football teams heading over to play in the Champions League (are you impressed with my football knowledge?!)

Lots of magazines and newspapers featured many articles about the wonderful city including The Sun, who created a great little tour guide for those who will be visiting - I even got a little mention too.

Moscow really is a great city, there is a lot to do and see and if the wives and girlfriends of the footballers are heading over for the game, I would be most happy to make some suggestions for shopping!!

Here's a picture from my launch party of the beautiful Ananda, who runs the Russian office of our British advertising agency Silence, with Mr Mark Hudson, a journalist from The Sun newspaper. You can watch an interview with Mr Hudson filmed that night on the website of Russia Today.

Reports on Stayin' Alive

"You know what?" said Joseph, "if you combine all the records that you've sold with all the records that The Bee Gees have sold, that's more than any other artist in the world."

Joseph was looking at articles from The Guardian and one from The Sun about my collaboration with Mr Robin Gibb from The Bee Gees. We have recorded a version of The Bee Gees' classic Stayin' Alive together to mark the 30th anniversary of the release of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The Sun used the headline 'Bee Gees are Stayin' Alive-ski' and The Guardian used the headline 'KGBee Gee', both of which made us laugh.

This photo you can see was taken a few weeks ago when we recorded the song in Mr Robin Gibb's studio in London.

The cover of the Independent on Sunday

The_independent_2

My publicist, Mr Peter Bassett, rang to let me know that I was on the front page of The Independent on Sunday newspaper, my first mention in the UK press.

They'd written this about me: 'Meet Valeriya, Russia's Madonna. She's sold 100m records - now she's coming our way.'
